Sunningdale Chess Congress : 10-12 September 2010

Confirmed entries include GM Gawain Jones, GM Nick Pert and GM Simon Williams for this 5 round weekend swiss.  Being played in extremely pleasant and comfortable surroundings, there are three sections  - Open , U2000/U165 and U135.  So, something for everyone!

The Open and Major will both be FIDE rated which gives players of all standards an opportunity to play a FIDE rated events.  All three sections will be ECF  graded and count towards the ECF grand prix and as usual all three sections offer attractive prize funds.

And if that wasn't enough, the hotel offers a big discount off it's normal b&b rate to our chess players.  However, availability of these rooms is limited and it's first come first served.

So why not enter now?

Runcorn Chess Congress : 24-26 September 2010

Our second venuture in the North, we aim to build on the success of our Warrington Congress with another 5 round weekend swiss.  We are pleased to be hosted for the first time in a Holiday Inn Hotel with extremely attractive rates for guests and easy to get to being less than 1/4 mile from the motorway and just 3 miles from the nearest railway station.  The Open will be FIDE rated with the highest placed finisher not yet qualified for the British Championships eligible to play in the 2011 event in Sheffield. We have listened to customer feedback and altered the grading bands for the Major and Minor sections, and reduced the entry fees for the Minor.

So why not treat yourself and play one of the best weekend events in the country?  Enter Online Now.

e2e4 Uxbridge Premier : 24-28 October 2010

Why go abroad for international competition when e2e4 brings it to your doorstep!

Brighton Chess Congress : 12-14 November 2010

e2e4 are delighted to announce their inaugural Brighton Congress will take place from Friday 12th November - Sunday 14th November 2010.

Following the success of recent events we will be holding our first sea side event in Brighton where, as you will know, there is lots to do and good places to eat, drink and have fun!

Brighton will also see our first venure with Barcelo Hotels as the event will be hosted by the fabulous, newly renovated four star Barceló Brighton Old Ship Hotel.

Accommodation is available at this four star venue at the special rates of £31 B&B per person per night (based on 2 sharing) and £48 B&B (single), so why not put the date in your diary now - and bring the family!

This event is only possible thanks to the generous support of the Old Ship Hotel.  If you are staying in Brighton, please stay at the venue if you want the event to continue.  And to help out, we'll give you a £9 discount if you do!!

4NCL Team and Individual Rapidplay Championships 9-10 October 2010

The 4NCL will be holding its first team and individual rapidplay championships on 9-10 October 2010 for which entries are invited from all interested teams and players. For those of you with long memories, the format being used is not dissimilar to the now defunct British team lightning championships (held between 1953 and 1992), with the team championship held on the Saturday and the individual championship on the Sunday. Winners will hold the title of 4NCL Team and Individual Rapidplay Champion respectively for 2010/2011. The 4NCL are guaranteeing a prize fund of at least £2,000 for the weekend.

Hopefully both the format (significantly different from the previous 4NCL rapidplay events last held in 2008), the time control (10 minutes + 5 second increment per game) and the time of year (a month before the start of the new 4NCL season) will prove attractive.

Although it would of course be unrealistic to expect entry fees to be paid in advance of the deadlines (30 September, or 30 June for discounted entry fees), Mike Truran of 4NCL would very much appreciate it if you could let him know whether you expect to enter. That will help him give the venue an idea of likely numbers in advance.
